I thought of you today and I wished I knew what to say,
Many times I tried to say I loved you at least once a day.
I tried so many times to say thank you for leading me along the way,
You did it all and didn't require anything from me, no not even pay.

I had always hoped that somehow you knew exactly how I felt,
To hear your voice and the sound of your laughter made my heart melt.
You were so dear to me and I sometimes wonder if you really knew how I felt,
Now you are gone and I hold onto the memories and once again my heart begins to melt.

Your time here on earth has ended and you are on a new journey,
Walking hand in hand with the loved ones that have gone on before you,
They waited for you to come and join them on this new journey,
And I know that one day I too will make my own journey and it will be with all of you.

So as long as I am here on this earth I will place one foot in front of the other,
And because of your example, I too will give help to another,
I will try to let others know that I love them and remember to say Thank You,
So it is with a heart that is full of memories and love that I say I Love You.
