If I have wounded any soul today,
If I have caused one foot to go astray,
If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive!
If I have uttered idle words or vain,
If I have turned aside from want or pain,
Lest I myself shall suffer through the strain,
Dear Lord, forgive!
If I have been perverse or hard, or cold,
If I have longed for shelter in Thy fold,
When Thou hast given me some fort to hold,
Dear Lord, forgive!
Forgive the sins I have confessed to Thee;
Forgive the secret sins I do not see;
O guide me, love me and my keeper be,
....Amen.

From the Heart of Angel
A scripture that I always think about when I hear this song is found in Ephesians4:26-27. "Be ye angry, and sin not; let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil." Now God knows that sometimes we are going to get angry at different things that happen and He has allowed for that here. But He also tells us not to sin because of the anger. And what does this mean? Well it is pretty simple to explain out. Don't go on being angry and letting it take root into your heart and become wrath. There is danger in prolonged anger. We must get over our anger quickly and cool off a bit so that we can make Christlike judgment to our situation. And you can bet that Satan is standing right there waiting and even coaching the person on to allowing the anger to continue. Because uncontrolled anger is an open invitation for Satan to enter in and to disrupt and corrupt the body. And he can only do this if there is an open place in some ones life and they let him enter in. So as with this song An Evening Prayer ask forgiveness of God, but also ask for forgiveness from any that you might have been angry with. And Husbands and Wives never go to bed angry with each other. Cling to one another and never allow room for Satan to come in and destroy your marriage.
