All Rose ever wanted in life was for people to accept her for what she was and not for what they wanted her to be. She was different from other girls because she didn't have the same looks like the others. She was more of a tom boy look compared to the princess type that was all around her. And perhaps because of it people always said things to her that would hurt her and make her feel that she was never going to be quite good enough no matter what she did. Kids would call her names that were degrading and one of her sibling told her that she was adopted and wasn't really part of the family. That was a lie, but none the less it shot an arrow straight into her heart. She was shy as a result of a lot of things that happened to her. She couldn't make friend very easily because she didn't know how to talk to others without them judging her in some way. She made friends with one girl when they were in the 4th grade and they would remain friends until about two years after they graduated from high school then they lost touch with one another.

Rose grew up and went off to college and being in a strange city didn't help her as she didn't know anyone and was still afraid to talk to people. Thoughout the years she did manage to be able to talk to people without getting butterflies in her stomach, but still is lacking in the friendship area. She has met a lot of people over the years once she got on the internet. Most of these people were in her life for a short time and then have never been heard from again. She still wonders why. Life continues and Rose keeps plugging along and in her heart she hopes that someday people all around her will finally accept her for who she is and not judge her for what she's not.

I'm sure that each of us have met someone like Rose who just wants to be loved and accepted for who they are and not what we would have them be.
