Ages one, two, three
you sat upon your Daddy's knee.
Ages four, five, six
you learned more tricks.
Ages seven, eight and nine
you learned how to whine.
Ages ten, eleven and twelve
into the books you did delve.
Ages thirteen, fourteen and fifteen
you ate a lot of beans.
Ages sixteen, seventeen and eightteen
you learned to preen.
Ages nineteen, twenty and twenty-one
you became a smart one.
Ages twenty-two, twenty-three and twenty-four
there was always someone knocking on the door.
Ages twenty-five, twenty-six and twenty-seven
you thought you were in heaven.
Ages twenty-eight, twenty-nine and then came thirty
your kids came in the house quite dirty.
Ages thirty-one, thirty-two and thirty-three
you were wishing you were young and on your daddy's knee
Ages thrity-four, thirty-five, and thirty-six
you had a lot of things that you had to fix.
Ages thirty-seven, thirty-eight and thirty-nine
you took life by the horns and said the world is mine.
Ages forty, forty-one, forty-two
you found you needed a new shoe.
Ages forty-three, forty-four and forty-five
you went around saying sakes alive.
Ages forty-six, forty-seven and forty-eight
your body starts to ache.
Ages forty-nine, fifty and fifty-one
you find yourself hiding from the sun.
Ages fifty-two, fifty-three and fifty-four
you go to the kitchen but you forgot what for.
Ages fifty-five, fifty-six and fifty-seven
Jim's in your life and you are in heaven.
Ages fifty-eight and now fifty-nine
you are really online.
Aren't you glad that you aren't older,
cause this poet is getting bolder.
