The Road You Have Traveled
The road you traveled was long and winding,
Many curves came your way as the road was bending.
The path that you chose to take made sense to you,
But to your loved ones it left them blue.
Addiction isn't a laughing matter to any,
It is a necessity of life to many.
Before you reach out your hand for that next drink,
Stop and take a moment to think.
Is it really worth it to treat my body like this,
When I am gone will I be missed?
Before you pop that next pill into your mouth,
Listen closely for my shout, get that out of your mouth.
For you my brother it was too late,
To save you from that awful fate.
The stuggles that you endured each day,
Had a heafty price that you would have to pay.
Who every would have guessed the thing you would endure,
The secrets that were kept came as a shock to us for sure.
So now we are left behind with hearts that are broken,
Because your young life was taken without a word spoken.
