Memory of Beautiful Things

We carry our memories

From yesteryear

Memories we cherish

Ones so dear

The hugs and kisses

Given as a child

The beauty of our children

Even if for a little while

Remembering handprints

On the walls

Bugs and flowers

We remember it all

Bedtime stories

How many we read

Getting our little ones

Ready for bed

Squeals and laughter

Grins so wide

Watching our child grow

Oh, the pride

Those days are gone

But what I'd give

For one more chance

To have my child live

But since that can't happen

I'll carry in my heart

The memories of our lives

Before my child had to part

I'll remember the laughter

That was once part of me

I'll carry my love

Through eternity

When the days are hard

And you don't know what to do

Think of your memories

They will carry you through.

Think of a love

That death cannot part

For we bereaved parents

Cherish what is in our hearts
