My Parents

I'll always remember
the love that they shared,
my Mom and my Dad,
perfectly paired.

Our home was so peaceful,
no quarrels had they,
unselfish and loving
to the last day.

Then Dad had to leave her,
to God he did go,
leaving her lonely and lost,
the poor soul.

Years passed then,
and she suffered much less,
but I know in my heart, God,
if she had her way,
she'd have joined him in Heaven
the very next day.
