Thanksgiving Day 2004
Over the bridge and down the interstate,
For a turkey dinner we can't wait.
The traffic is flowing,
And the lights are glowing.
We see that others have the same idea not to cook,
So to the road they also took.
Hours of driving time we finally arrive,
We thought that it would only be a short drive.
The turkey's cooking we can tell,
From the kitchen comes that wonderful smell.
The sweet potatoes are baking in the special sauce,
Their wonderful taste is something that is never a loss.
The aroma of stuffing and corn now fill the air,
Together they make a wonderful pair.
The table is set with plate, glasses and silverware
You can tell it was prepared with lots of care.
So as you celebrate this Thanksgiving Day,
Remember all the thanks that you want to say.
With a heart filled with gladness,
There is no room for sadness.
So here’s your plate,
Hurry up or we'll be late.
