In a rickety house amid a garden of weeds
That flourished unhindered to scatter their seeds;
Where cobwebs excluded the sweet light of morn,
A woman sat idle in garment forlorn.
She looked at the holes in the rat-eaten floor,
She smoothed her torn wrapper and peacefully sighed,
"In some way or other the Lord will provide!"
Her husband sat out by the door in the shade,
His head on the chairback contentedly laid,
The briars and the weeds did his meadow adorn,
While grass in his fields was outstripping his corn.
Of rents in his trousers there sure was no lack,
And the coat was just ready to fall from his back.
And he clamly observed, while these facts I described,
"In some way or other the Lord will provide!'
In some way or other, it may be He,
Although patient and long to endure.
Can scarce be expected to stall feed the man
Who has not the gumption to do what he can.
And although he bequeath the fruit of the land
And scattered His bounty on every hand
He doesn't put bread ready-made on the shelf
Even a chicken must scratch for himself.
I think He is far better pleased with those,
Who tackle life bravely and to the chore goes;
And rustle and hustle the journey along
And fill up the chinks with a laugh and a song
Than those who so solemnly set themselves down
In idleness awaiting a robe and a crown.
And silently chant, as they drift with the tide,
"IN SOME WAY OR OTHER THE LORD WILL PROVIDE!"

From the Heart of Angel
Yes we are to trust the Lord to provide for us, but I also think that He expects us to do what we can too. He provides us with knowledge to do different things and also provides opportunity for us. We have to learn to recognize the ways that the Lord is providing for us. We all must ask ourselves this question. "Are we using what the Lord is providing for us wisely? Or are we waiting for Him to do everything for us so that we don't have to lift a finger to do any of it that we want?" Think about it and then have a talk with Him about it. God Bless you all.
