THE ROADRUNNER

Once upon a time in the land of make believe,

There was a roadrunner and a coyote.

The coyote chased the roadrunner throughout the land,

Trying to catch him so he could be put in the frying pan.

But the roadrunner was quite fast,

And the coyote's speed didn't last.

Out of breath the coyote started to think,

If only he had some water so that he could have a drink.

While pondering the coyote came up with a scheme,

Surely it was better than any dream.

He would set up a trap and catch that roadrunner,

In one way or another.

But try as he might he never would be able to catch,

The roadrunner no matter how many schemes he was to hatch.

So as you go cruising in the desert in your jeep,

Don't be surprised when you see a roadrunner and he says, "beep, beep."

PAGE DEDICATION

To My Friends

Al & Jean

From the Heart of Angel

You know the old saying that behind every successful man there is a woman. Well Jean is the one that walks beside Al, so he is a very fortunate man. Thank You Al for getting the picture of the roadrunner for me. I told Al last year while we were at the Old Tucson Studio's that I would love to have a picture of a roadrunner so that I could put it on a web page. So being the great photographer that he is, he was able to get the one that I am using on this page. I also had told Al and Jean how disappointed I was when I seen my first roadrunner. It was a time in my life before I started questioning things. And had trouble with what was make believe and what was real. You see I thought that the roadrunners were the size of the ones that is in the cartoon. When I seen the first roadrunner I thought that my family was trying to pull a fast one on me. But then I realized that they weren't and that is when I started to question things in life. (Ha! Ha!) So to everyone that visits here, I hope that you enjoy the poem as well as the picture.
