What You Mean To Me

What you mean to me,
I could never express
You always greet me
With a smile and a hug
No matter what is wrong
You just smile and
Say, "It’ll be all right."
I know you can’t stay
For your time is drawing near
I love and cherish you like no other
Because to me
You were like my brother
You have always been special
To all that were around you
The memories we have of you
Will keep burning forever
One more thing before you go
When you get to Heaven
Keep a light on for me

From The Heart of Angel

This is the way that I like to have fun. Once again Rhett's wife has sent me some of his poems to put on web pages. Now I am not sure if he is aware of it this time or not, but this is fun surprising him anyway. Rhett let me just say you have a wife that loves you very much and she thinks that you are the best poet around. And it gives me great pleasure to help her surprise you. I understand that this poem was written to a young man who was dying of cancer and it was written and given to him just before he went to be with the Lord. Bless you Rhett for bringing happiness into the heart of this young man. I am sure that your poem brought him much comfort and also the knowledge that he was not alone.
